the maximum operating capability of each major item of equipment within
the context of the operation of the entire facility. It reduces the over
application of design factors of safety that can aggregate and lead to
excessive redundancy and over-spending. Design to Capacity is often
conducted in conjunction with the Process Simplification and the Waste
Minimization VIPs. |
